gig economy
increased prevalence of short term contracts and on-demand freelance work in the labour market that creates a growing sense of precariousness in the market
This economic stress is further enhanced by the lack of social rights and financial regulation. What seems to be a creative forefront can in fact become a new digital proletariat. In this gig economy, as it is called in the United States, self-employed 3D printworkers hop from one commission to another. There is a serious risk of a new class of modern-day journeymen emerging.
