Products containing hazardous substances bear labels displaying hazard symbols and other warnings so that customers, users and workers are aware of their risks. However, many harmful substances are process-generated materials (e.g. wood dust, crystalline silica dust and welding fumes) and so cannot have hazard symbols. This video provides information about hazardous substances, answering questions such as the following: When is a substance a hazardous substance? How are hazardous substances generated? How can we protect ourselves with simple measures? This video raises awareness and demonstrates the risks of process-generated substances.
