Currently, cytostatic drugs are being used in anti-cancer therapy and for the treatment of various diseases. The positive effects of these drugs has led to an increased use of cytostatics. This document is about managing cytostatic and biosanitary waste in healthcare. It is aimed at raising awareness of the risks of biosanitary and cytostatic waste management in healthcare. It provides information on the use of cytostatics in Madrid's healthcare system, including the problems concerning both ecological and occupational safety and health issues. Chapter 3 (p. 23-36) deals with occupational risks and prevention measures.
