Description

The video shows a young worker whose skin is burnt and who turned blind due to an accident with a corrosive liquid chemical. The main message is that workers should ask if they are unsure about how to handle chemicals.
Young workers — apprentices, part timers, casual workers, etc. — don't believe that the workplace can be dangerous. But this group is at an extremely high risk of accidents. Most of these accidents are a result of them being inexperienced, unsure, over-confident or embarrassed about speaking up. The video is part of a campaign of WorkSafe Victoria.
