Voluntary Agreement and workplace safety by Formacare members: First results now published

Formacare, the formaldehyde sector group of the European Chemical Industry Council (Cefic), has published the first results of its Voluntary Agreement to protect workers’ health from formaldehyde exposure.

The results show that 99.7% of workers are not exposed to levels beyond target occupational exposure limits. In order to reach this level, Formacare recommends the implementation of a wide array of safety measures, such as the use of closed systems and high standard ventilation units.

Signatories are committed to continue improving health through prevention and protection of workers exposed to formaldehyde in the workplace. Formacare is actively working with its members to exchange best practice and ensure even higher compliance with targets in time for the first anniversary of the agreement in May 2020.
