Description
The integrated materials handling prevention strategy combines training and intervention and is based on the understanding, observation and analysis of five principles of action. These principles are common to all handling techniques used by workers.

Opportunities for the worker to reduce the intensity of the initial load by performing manoeuvres before lifting (pre-manoeuvre). The purpose of these manoeuvres is to reduce the distance between the load and the worker's body and to limit the bending of the worker's trunk, which have an influence on the amount of initial load.
