‘Turtle Shells’ film screening: animals, man and war with an OSH perspective

Description
The German film ‘Turtle Shells’, winner of the Healthy Workplaces Film Award in 2017, will be screened on 24 March in the Carlos III Health Institute in Madrid and online.
This short documentary tells the story of a turtle retrieved at a reptile rescue centre in Munich whose shell has been painted with the flag of the Syrian rebels. Occupational safety and health is discussed as a German army specialist learns how to safely deal with dangerous reptiles. It also explores European species protection law when the turtle’s Syrian owner tries to get her animal back.
The session is organised by the Spanish national focal point Instituto Nacional de Seguridad y Salud en el Trabajo (INSST) and targets National School of Occupational Medicine students, the research community and anyone interested. It will be followed by a debate.
