Latvia - Tour of pharmaceutical company to show how to properly protect workers from dangerous substances
This visit to Olainfarm, a leading pharmaceutical manufacturer in the Baltics, focuses on the presence of chemical substances in workplaces, and in particular on carcinogens. It aims to raise awareness of the impact chemical substances can have on workers’ health, as well as on the environment.
Speakers give a tour through the company’s different departments and demonstrate the on-site measures being taken to ensure workers are properly protected from harmful exposures. They highlight the consequences of exposures to carcinogens at work, underlining that work-related cancer is one of the biggest health problems across Europe.
Finally, speakers present the occupational health and safety management system at Olainfarm and share good practice examples from the pharmaceutical sector.
