NON-FUNCTIONALISED AND FUNCTIONALISED SILICA NANOSPHERES

Industrial Chemistry Research Institute (ICRI) have developed technologies of silica nanospheres using the sol-gel process. ICRI undertakes also research projects focused on application of these nanospheres as fillers for polymer nanocomposites (PVC, PET, PC, PA). Through an analysis the following operations have been identified in which laboratory staff of ICRI can be exposed to silica nanospheres: drying of silica nanospheres, grinding and packing of silica nanospheres into glass containers, manufacture of polymer composites by reactive processing techniques.
