Safer and Healthier Work at Any Age – occupational safety and health in the context of an ageing workforce

One of the objectives of the conference was to receive expert opinion and validate the main findings of the project by independent experts (Prof. Dr Paulien Bongers, Prof. Maria Albin, Prof. Juhani Ilmarinen, Prof. Stephen Bevan and Dr Irene Kloimüller), that are described in a number of analysis reports.
The independent expert commentaries were followed by panel discussions with the participation of interest group members. The panel discussions were organized around the main topics of the analysis reports “Ageing and OSH and gender”, “OSH policies, strategies, actions and workplace practices”, and “Rehabilitation/Return to work systems, strategies and programmes”. The event served as a forum for exchange of views and experiences among stakeholders as regards effective strategies and practices for improving OSH of older workers. A member of the European Parliament, representatives from the European Commission, EU-OSHA and social partners, governing board members participated to the event.
