A review of good workplace practices to support individuals experiencing mental health problems
Keywords:Stigma and discrimination still surround mental health problems at work. Employers can support affected workers with accommodations that enable them to continue working or return after sickness absence.
This report provides background research on supporting workers experiencing mental health problems. It found that irrespective of the specific mental health problem, the same return-to-work principles apply. Policy pointers are based on actions that can be applied across the range of mental health problems. The report also emphasises that the starting point for supporting mental health at work is the prevention of work-related psychosocial risk factors.
