The goal of the company was to become the safest company in the steel industry. Besides general aims (reduction of accident rate, improvement of working conditions), the company started a scheduled programme of renovation and investment to enhance occupational safety and health. They launched a pilot project to increase awareness and developed a safety organisation at a hot-rolling mill unit.
