International conference on how to manage dangerous substances and prevent work-related diseases
This conference brings together occupational safety and health (OSH) experts from Belgium, the Netherlands and Luxembourg to discuss practical ways to assess and control dangerous substances in the workplace.
In the framework of the Healthy Workplaces Manage Dangerous Substances campaign, speakers stress the need to eliminate or reduce workers’ exposure to chemical agents and protect them against work-related accidents and health problems.
Speakers present the latest updates of the EU directive on carcinogens and mutagens which introduced limit values for additional cancer-causing chemical agents. They elaborate on the health risks of constant exposure to hazardous substances and share good practice examples on the prevention of pulmonary diseases.
Finally, speakers introduce the roadmap on carcinogens and share knowledge on chemical risk assessment in the workplace to provide healthy and safe working environments in all three countries.
