European Occupational Diseases Statistics (EODS) by Eurostat

Eurostat is launching a new web section dedicated to European Occupational Diseases Statistics (EODS).

The European Occupational Diseases Statistics is an experimental project aimed to assess legislation's efficiency in safety and health at work across Europe.

EODS pilot project gathers national data in a unique database and provides trends on the most recognized occupational diseases at the European level for the first time.

The experimental nature of EODS is mainly related to the existence of different legal systems and procedures for recognizing occupational diseases in Europe, difficulting the comparative exercise between the Member States. The data is collected at a national level by different organizations and then centralised by Eurostat in a dedicated web section.
