European Commission encourages Member States to ratify the violence and harassment convention
The European Commission adopted a proposal for a Council Decision allowing Member States to take forward the process of ratifying the Convention on the elimination of violence and harassment in the world of work.
This is the first international instrument setting out global standards on work-related harassment and violence. The scope of the Convention also includes the impact of domestic violence on the world of work. It recognises that violence and harassment at work can be a human rights violation or abuse, posing a threat to equal opportunities.
