EU-OSHA welcomes Commissioner Marianne Thyssen in Bilbao

On 25 January, EU-OSHA’s staff was pleased to welcome in their headquarters Marianne Thyssen, European Commissioner for Employment, Social Affairs, Skills and Labour Mobility.

Ms Thyssen congratulated EU-OSHA on its professional and effective approach to raise awareness on occupational safety and health across Europe. She also emphasised EU-OSHA’s hard work and the unique value of its tripartite nature and positive cooperation with national authorities, institutional partners and stakeholders.

‘EU-OSHA is best fit to put into practice the European Pillar of Social Rights in relation to healthy, safe and well-adaptive work environments’, Commissioner Thyssen said during her visit.

Earlier in the day, the Commissioner took part together with other stakeholders in a seminar hosted by EU-OSHA on how to ensure workers’ safety and health in micro and small enterprises (MSEs).
