Description

Nanoparticles are increasingly being used in various products, including paint, cosmetics, rackets and concrete. It is important to pay extra attention when working with nanoproducts. Some forms of nanoparticles may be harmful. The problem is that free nanoparticles are so small that they can penetrate deep into the lungs if you breathe them in in the working environment. From the lungs, they can enter the bloodstream and be transported around the body to, among other things, the liver. For example, inhalation of nanoparticles may cause inflammation of the lungs and some nanoparticles may cause DNA damage, cancer, cardiovascular disease or acute pulmonary disease.
A list of sectors that use nanotechnology is provided and four tips are given on how to reduce the risk.
