Betterlift — introducing a semi-automatic exhaust manipulator to reduce a high absenteeism rate

Absenteeism was high among exhaust assembly workers, caused by the repetitive actions performed. Recent technology involves more double exhausts that weight more. Workers reported heavy strain on their back, shoulders, neck and wrists from repetitive lifting, holding and fixing exhausts. The company aimed to decrease absenteeism, decrease workload and risks thus enabling more workers to perform this task, increase motivation and morale, and reduce manpower needs.
