Forum 13 - Improving safety and health in construction: the need for action during procurement, design and planning, construction and maintenance

The European Week for Safety and Health at Work in 2004 focused on the construction industry. It was launched in April 2004 and is the largest occupational safety and health campaign ever to take place in Europe, with over 30 countries taking part. The national campaigns were promoted under the slogan ‘Building in safety’. This first pan-European campaign was significant as it coincided with the entry of 10 new Member States into the European Union.
