Description

Precast concrete is a form of concrete that is prepared, cast and cured off-site. The Lithonplus GmbH & Co. KG is one of the leading manufacturers of concrete products for gardening and landscaping. These elements are often produced in special shapes. After the concrete is cured, the elements have to be turned. This task puts workers at highg risk of manual handling heavy loads in awkward positions. To avoid manual handling of heavy loads the company has developped a rotating device that is attached to the forklift truck and enables workers to move concrete parts of various dimensions and weights ergonomically and safely. The idea of the rotating device was awarded in 2017 by the German Social Accident Insurance for raw materials and chemicals industry  - BG RCI.
