World Health Day, 7 April 2013, encourages prevention of high blood pressure Apr 05, 2013
This year’s theme of the World Health Day is high blood pressure, a condition that causes around half of all deaths from stroke and heart disease.
Occupational health and safety plays a key role in securing a healthier, longer and more sustainable working life. Some working conditions can have an impact on blood pressure while prevention and promotion measures at workplaces could contribute to reduce the risk and to improve health.
EU-OSHA engages in workplace health promotion to encourage the improvement of health and wellbeing at work, and thereby cutting the cost of illness in the EU workforce.
