9 May 2013: celebrating Europe in the European Year of Citizens May 07, 2013
Europe Day, 9 May is a powerful symbol of united Europe. It marks the anniversary of the 'Schuman declaration' and celebrates the historical start of European integration.
This year’s Europe Day is even more special since 2013 has been officially named "The European Year of Citizens" and dedicated to the rights that come with EU citizenship, including our fundamental right to safe and healthy work.
With its Healthy Workplaces campaign, EU-OSHA is working to raise awareness, on Europe Day and throughout 2013, of the importance of Europe’s employers and workers working together for risk prevention.
