Economic Incentives Workshop - Brussels Presidency Event

The Economic Incentives Expert Group is an expert group established by EU-OSHA to give advice and input to the related Agency products and help promote the products among stakeholders. In line with the EU OSH Strategy 2007–2012 the aim is to stimulate discussions in Member States about economic incentives in OSH, which are regarded as an effective tool, in combination with OSH regulation, to reduce accidents and improve working conditions in enterprises. The Expert Group came together for the fifth time on 24 November 2010 in Brussels. This Workshop was part of the ‘Quality of Working Life’ Event, organised by Prevent (Belgian Institute for Occupational Safety and Health) within the framework of the Belgian EU Presidency. The event was part of series of seminars, network events and a closing colloquium, held from 24–26 November 2010 at the European Parliament in Brussels. In the afternoon the economic incentive experts joined the workshop ‘BenOSH - Benefits of occupational safety and health: towards a sustainable productivity’. This workshop focused on the EU-funded research project ‘benOSH’ and was organised jointly by the European Commission and the two partners of the benOSH project: Prevent and Kooperationsstelle Hamburg.
