The European Agency for Safety and Health at Work (EU-OSHA) and the European Academy of Occupational Health Psychology (EAOHP) are pleased to announce that Dr Jo Yarker and Dr Rachel Lewis have been awarded the Eusebio Rial-González Innovation and Practice Award 2024.

Dr Yarker and Dr Lewis have a joint job-share at the consultancy Affinity Health at Work, as well as at the University of London, UK. Their partnership has resulted into a programme in the area of psychosocial risks assessment and management, including elements on managing the return-to-work process, and supporting workers with long COVID in the workplace.

The biennial award places special emphasis on innovations that promote a participatory approach. It was set up in 2014 to honour Eusebio (Seb) Rial González’s contribution to occupational health psychology (OHP).

Seb was Head of EU-OSHA’s Prevention and Research Unit and a founding member of the EAOHP until his passing away in December 2014. He will always be remembered as a beloved colleague and a true innovator in OHP.

The Award will be formally presented at the 16th European Academy of Occupational Health Psychology Conference that will take place from 5-7 June in Granada, Spain.
