International Migrants Day: moving towards better protection for posted workers in Europe

International Migrants Day is annually observed on 18 December to draw attention to the contribution of migrants worldwide and to raise awareness of their rights and vulnerability.

Back to back to the migration issue, the EU is currently working on a complex reform to ensure solid protection of posted workers including improvement of their working conditions.

16 million Europeans now live and work in a Member State other than that of their nationality. Every day, 1.7 million people commute to another Member State. In 2015 there were 2.05 million posted workers in the EU and posting has increased by 41.3% between 2010 and 2015.
