How to safely handle chemicals with CheSSE

Chemical Safety in Science Education (CheSSE) is a website with accessible, up-to date, online resources about chemical safety for schools. CheSSE offers comprehensive information on all matters related to chemical safety including risk assessments, storage of chemicals and waste management, legislation and more directed.

The CheSSE website was developed as an ERASMUS+ project aimed at teachers, educators and school directives by the University of Oslo (Norway), the University of Helsinki (Finland), the University of Ljubljana (Slovenia), and Stockholm University (Sweden) and is available in English, Finnish, Norwegian, Slovenian and Swedish.

Handling chemicals safely is an important skill for worker  in different occupational sectors. EU-OSHA promoted the management of dangerous substances in the 2018-2019 Healthy Workplaces Campaign: Manage Dangerous Substances.

The initiative also goes hand in hand with the European Year of Skills that  raises awareness of the importance of skills for employment, competitiveness, and growth.
