SDG8 Partnerships Forum
The 4th SDG Business Forum will take place at the United Nations Headquarters in New York on September 24th, 2019, providing a multi-stakeholder platform to support business action and partnerships to achieve the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) – fostering public-private dialogues, catalyzing new partnerships and alliances, and exploring innovative business solutions to accelerate sustainable development.
On the margins of this unique gathering of high-impact, interested partners, the Business Council for International Understanding (BCIU) is convening a focused dialogue on partnerships for the 8th SDG, which promotes inclusive and sustainable economic growth, full and productive employment, and decent work for all. As SDG8 is fundamental to other SDGs, business growth, and global peace and prosperity, it is drawing willing partners from United Nations agencies, collaborating governments, and the business community together to address key issues affecting public policy and business efforts to co-create sustainable solutions.
The 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, adopted by all United Nations Member States in 2015, provides a shared blueprint for peace and prosperity for people and the planet, now and into the future. At its heart are the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), which are an urgent call for action by all countries - developed and developing - in a global partnership.
