Description
In June 2022, the 110th International Labor Conference adopted a resolution to include the principle of a safe and healthy working environment in the framework of Fundamental Principles and Rights at Work (FPRW) of the International Labor Organization (ILO), adding it to the pre-existing four categories of FPRW, consisting of:
• the right to freedom of association and the effective recognition of the right to collective bargaining.
• the elimination of all forms of forced or compulsory labor;
• the effective abolition of child labor;
• the elimination of discrimination in respect of employment and occupation.
ENSHPO, as the leading European voice of Health and Safety professionals, is convinced that following this milestone, it is up to us to be one of the conduits for communicating the challenges and opportunities of making health and safety a Fundamental Principle, and what it means for professionals in their daily work.
