Description

The Roadmap on Carcinogens was launched in May 2016. At the end of the Amsterdam conference on preventing work-related cancer, six key European organisations began working on a new initiative: a voluntary action scheme to exchange good practices and raise awareness on the risks arising from exposure to carcinogens in the workplace.

This scheme was initially thought to have a four-year duration and got the title “Roadmap on Carcinogens”. In 2020 the partners concluded that the Roadmap was making good progress but far from finished. Therefore, in November 2020 a new strategy for 2020 – 2024 was presented, which began in Berlin and will end in Brussels during the Belgian EU Presidency.

During the Roadmap’s closing event in Brussels, a state of play on the prevention of carcinogens will be presented as well as the achievements of the Roadmap, according to its different pillars and challenges.
