On World Cancer Day EU-OSHA examines rehabilitation and return to work after cancer

World Cancer Day, 4 February 2017, is a global event that unites the citizens of the world in calling for action to prevent and cure cancer.

Around 1.6 million people of working age are diagnosed with cancer in Europe each year. EU‑OSHA reflects on the impact of this for workers and employers in a new report. More must be done to facilitate sustainable work of cancer survivors, both to promote the well-being of this vulnerable group and to reduce the related societal and economic impacts.

More information will be published next year on recommendations about successful instruments, interventions, programmes and practices to support the return to work of workers affected by cancer.
