Summary of EU-OSHA’s workshop on the challenges posed by the online platform economy
EU-OSHA’s workshop ‘Protecting workers in the Online Platform Economy’ focused on the findings of a study on the regulation of the occupational safety and health risks that might result from the online platform work.
Topics of discussion covered the challenges posed by the rapid emergence of online platforms and growth in related jobs, its impact on workers, and proposals addressing those challenges. These include changes in legislation and regulations, case law and initiatives by social partners at European and national level.
The workshop also represented an opportunity for participants to exchange views and learn from others’ experiences.
