Preventing work-related MSDs — how body and hazard mapping can help

Body mapping is a method of finding out how work might be harming people’s bodies, while hazard mapping helps pinpoint workplace risks to health.

These interactive techniques — carried out using simple tools at a meeting or workshop — draw on workers’ knowledge and experience and make them feel part of the solution.

They can help prevent musculoskeletal disorders (MSDs) by identifying MSD risk factors and are particularly useful if reading skills or language barriers are an issue.

Our new info sheet includes a step-by-step guide to running body and hazard mapping sessions.
