Today, thousands of companies across Europe rely on more than 320 free-of-charge online interactive risk assessment (OiRA) tools to manage occupational safety and health (OSH) risks and protect their workers.
A committed community of 17 national and 17 EU sectoral social partners is behind the success of this unique European initiative. And while risk assessment through OiRA has been given special prominence in the EU Strategic Framework on Health and Safety at Work 2021-2027, it has been also integrated in the national OSH strategies of many EU member states.
On 5 October, a high-level conference organised by EU-OSHA in Brussels brings together national and EU OiRA partners and relevant representatives at policy level to take stock of the achievements and lessons learnt. Results from a qualitative study on the OiRA tools implemented with French companies reveal, as key points for success, the tools´ intuitiveness, their efficiency and adaptation to sector and company needs.
