EU-OSHA ENP Project meeting with partners in Morocco

James Sumner

In October 2014, and as part of its European Neighbourhood Policy (ENP) project, funded by the EU under the ENP Instrument, EU-OSHA met with our colleagues in the Kingdom of Morocco to discuss workplace health and safety and our future cooperation.

EU-OSHA was assisted during our visit by Professor El Kholti, Director of the Institute of Working Life in Morocco. We were grateful for the opportunity to meet with the Minister of Employment and Social Affairs, Mr Abdeslam Seddiki, and representatives from the Ministry of Employment and Social Affairs as well as from the Ministry of Industry. During our visit we also met with representatives from the Occupational Health Department of the Faculty of Medicine and Pharmacy in Casablanca.

Our discussions were positive and we identified a number of activities on which we could collaborate during the current phase of the project. With the support of the European Commission, EU-OSHA will continue to build links with our colleagues in Morocco to share information and expertise in order to help make both Morocco and the EU safer, healthier and more productive places to work.

We would like to thank our colleagues in Morocco for facilitating our informative and productive visit. We are looking forward to working together to help promote a positive occupational safety and health culture in our region.
