Article 255 of the Treaty establishing the European Community, implemented through Regulation 1049/2001 of 30 May 2001, grants a right of access to European Parliament, Council and Commission documents to any Union citizen and to any natural or legal person residing, or having its registered office, in a Member State.

The European Agency for Safety and Health at Work is committed to improving the transparency and in May 2004 adopted the Regulation 1049/2001 on public access to documents by a decision of the Administrative Board.

Access to documents is governed by the following rules and legislative provisions:

The register indicates which documents have already been released to the public. In that case, their content can be displayed and downloaded directly from the database.

To obtain documents that are not accessible from the register, you need to fill in and submit the request form.

Access to documents covered by the exceptions provided for in Articles 4 and 9 of Regulation 1049/2001 may be restricted.
