European Parliament to be more involved in three EU agencies focused on improving working conditions safety at work and training
In the Tuesday vote, Members of the European Parliament for Employment and Social Affairs endorsed the agreements with the Council on the greater involvement of the EP in three EU agencies: EU-OSHA, Eurofound and Cedefop.
The lead MEP for EU-OSHA, Czesław Hoc, believes that the decision is one of the crucial points for the agency’s Management Board since the European Parliament will henceforth have its representative in this body.
Furthermore, the new regulation defines more clearly EU-OSHA’s role in terms of providing relevant information and expertise in occupational safety and health across Europe.
