Ensuring safety in mining and quarrying: introducing OiRA tools

The mining and quarrying industry is considered a high-risk sector. Workers are exposed to life threatening hazards like explosions, fire, working in confined spaces and many more. In parallel, they also must face high physical workload, and are exposed to dust and loud noises, which may not only impact their physical, but also their psychosocial health.
Conducting risk assessments is crucial for ensuring safety and health of workers. Our Online interactive Risk Assessment (OiRA) national partners in Bulgaria, Lithuania and Portugal have developed tools to help companies addressing risks in the industry and foster a safe workplace environment.
