Die Firma Erik Walther GmbH und CO.KG ist ein mittelständischer Handelsbetrieb für Mineralöle, Kraftstoffe, Gase und andere Energieträger. Als Flüssiggasversorger füllt das Unternehmen auch Gasflaschen ab. Bis vor kurzem musste das Füllpersonal die rund 22 kg schweren befüllten Gasflaschen einzeln in Gitterboxen einstellen. Pro Tag wurden so im stundenweisen Mitarbeiter-Wechsel bis zu 10.000 kg bewegt. Diese rücken– und gelenkbelastende Schwerstarbeit wird nun von einem handgeführten pneumatischen Manipulator übernommen. Die Aufnehmer des Teleskoparmsystems wurden speziell für das Gasflaschen-Handling entwickelt. Das Saugsystem nimmt den Beschäftigten die schwere Arbeit ab, Rückenschmerzen oder Muskelverspannungen gehören der Vergangenheit an. Aber auch ganz allgemein wurde das Sicherheitsrisiko und die Unfallgefahr deutlich verringert.

The Erik Walther company (Erik Walther GmbH und CO.KG, Germany) is a medium-sized enterprise for mineral oils, fuels, gases and other energy sources. One business area is the sale of liquefied gases, which includes the refill of gasbottles. Each bottle weights 22 kg. Every day, up to 10,000 kg had to be moved, while the workers alternated every hour. Manual lifting tasks with high loads may induce musculoskeletal disorders. The company decided to substitute this heavy manual work by a pneumatic manipulator, a solution which allows to lift heavy loads without the risk of injury. It operates using air pressure and allows operators to move loads weightlessly and with minimum effort. The pneumatic manipulator was adapted to the transport of gas bottles. Not only the heavy manual handling belongs to the past, but also the risk of being injured in an accident was reduced.
