New policy brief focused on chronic diseases in the workplace published by Eurofound

Eurofound's new policy brief How to respond to chronic health problems in the workplace? examines chronic disease in EU workplaces. It combines European Working Conditions Survey and other EU and national level data to inspect the prevalence and impact of chronic diseases at work, the impact on ability to work, the workplaces adjustments and the effect of that on job quality.

Europe has an ageing workforce, and a quarter of the EU working population already reports having a chronic disease. Maintaining labour force participation is a key issue for policymakers in the context of demographic ageing and a falling working-age population.
