Source: Atlas Copco Industrial Technique AB

Swedish manufacturing company Atlas Copco Industrial Technique AB, received a Good Practice Award 2018-19 for managing worker exposure to carbon nanotubes, generated by work processes in its testing lab. The company installed fume hoods and extraction facilities to ensure that workers do not inhale potentially hazardous dust.

The new extraction system proved to be highly effective at preventing nanoparticle contamination of the air.

The company’s approach can be transferred to other workplaces looking to eliminate emerging workplace risks from nanomaterials.
