Description

The guidance describes possibilities to substitute hazardous chemicals with less hazardous substances as the best way for a company  to reduce the harmful effects of chemicals on human health and the environment.
Requirements for the substitution of hazardous substances are provided for various chemicals and relevant legislation is described to support the understanding of substitution and  raise awareness. The handbook was originally developed in the project "Activities of the Baltic States in Hazardous Substances Reduction in the Baltic Sea "(BaltActHaz) in order to support representatives of different industries to plan the replacement of a hazardous substance in a product or process at the enterprise level.
