Popis

Similar to the previous publication, the current publication (information sheet) was published by the Health and Safety Authority. The purpose of the information sheet is awareness raising, providing general information and guidance how to work safely with diesel engine exhaust. Diesel engines power many machines and vehicles including trucks, buses, private vehicles, farm machinery and construction equipment. Such vehicles and equipment are also potential sources of exposure to diesel exhaust fumes in the workplace. The current publication covers main chemicals found in diesel exhaust, like Carbon (fine soot), Carbon monoxide, Carbon dioxide, Nitrogen, Aldehydes, Hydrocarbons, Oxides of nitrogen, Oxides of sulphur, Polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs), etc.  This information sheet will help reader to understand the composition of the exhaust, its health effects, and ways to assess and prevent exposure.
