Description

Following a brief introduction to the hairdressing sector and occupational safety and health in this sector, this e-fact includes sections on how to do a risk assessment and how to use a checklist. An example of a checklist to help identify hazards in the sector is presented. An extensive list of ‘proposed solutions and examples of preventive measures’ are then considered in relation to different questions posed in the checklist. A case study is also included, to show the importance of identifying hazards and taking the appropriate preventive measures. Finally, at the end of the e-fact, sources of further information are listed.
