Popis

The guidance document was produced as part of a programme entitled 'Safe pages' ('Sichere Seiten'). The aim is to support employers in their duty to ensure the occupational safety and health (OSH) of their workers. It provides information on all relevant OSH issues related to pest control. The guidance document is about dangerous substances in pest control. Pesticides are substances used by pest control workers for repelling, killing or preventing pests. These substances destroy pests by restraining their central nervous system or circulatory system or by damaging their major organs. Therefore, pesticides are normally harmful to humans and animals alike. The aims of the guidance document are to ensure that workers safely handle dangerous substances and to minimise workers' expopsure to dangerous substances at their workplace.
