The publication provides an overview about possible occupational hazards in the cleaning sector, including hazardous chemicals, and required safety measures for protection. The cleaning activities may expose workers to disinfectants, acids and basis as well as other chemicals.

Brochure on the industrial cleaning sector produced under the European Campaign Risk Assessment on the Use of Hazardous Substances, launched in 2010 by the CARIT - Committee of Senior Officials of the European Union and Coordinated Inspection of Work in Portugal by the Authority for Working Conditions (ACT) under the motto "Hazardous Substances: Be aware, assess and protect". The publication provides an overview about possible occupational hazards incleaning work, focusing also on dangerous chemicals, and required safety measures.
