As every 31 May, EU-OSHA joins the World Health Organisation during this World No Tobacco Day to draw attention to the harmful and deadly effects of tobacco use and second-hand smoke exposure.

Tobacco growing harms the health of people and the planet alike, and yet industry interferes with attempts to substitute tobacco growing, contributing to the global food crisis. This is the focus of the 2023 World No Tobacco Day: Grow food, not tobacco.

Despite knowing how harmful tobacco can be, smoke-free workplaces are still uncommon. EU-OSHA offers a collection of info-sheets to help ensure a smoke-free working environment for everyone.
