Bulgaria – Preventing musculoskeletal injuries when lifting heavy loads
Подробности за събитието
Non-compliance with safety and health measures related to manual work is a significant risk factor for the development of musculoskeletal disorders (MSDs). To prevent injuries to the musculoskeletal system when lifting heavy loads, workers should be aware of how to work safely with weights.
To highlight the issue, the Bulgarian focal point is organising an event on 25 November in Sofia. The session focuses on how the use of personal protective equipment (PPE), the accurate execution of instructions, and compliance with working restrictions can reduce the MSD risk factors when working with heavy loads. It also demonstrates why it is the responsibility of employers to provide safe and healthy working conditions for employees. Particular attention will be paid to the musculoskeletal benefits of installing handrails in workplaces for employees tasked with lifting heavy loads.
The even is beneficial for representatives from trade unions, occupational medicine services, training centres, businesses and regional labour inspectorates.
