Os Estados-Membros, as instituições europeias, as associações empresariais, os parceiros sociais e outros intervenientes desenvolveram várias ferramentas e documentos de orientação para ajudar as empresas a efetuarem avaliações dos riscos abrangentes e eficazes. Estas ferramentas representam uma ampla variedade de abordagens à gestão eficaz das substâncias perigosas. Frequentemente, abrangem operações de trabalho específicas, como processos de enchimento e bombeamento de líquidos ou de soldadura.
