In Slovenia, the Ministry of Labour, Family and Social Affairs functions as the national focal point under the European Agency for Safety and Health at Work from Bilbao. The European Agency for Safety and Health at Work promotes exchange of information between the European Union and the Member States.
Information on accidents at work
![]() | According to Article 27 of the Safety and Health at Work Act, employers are required to report to the labour inspection any fatal injury at work, injuries resulting in workers being unable to work for more than three consecutive working days, as well as any collective accident, dangerous occurrence or established occupational disease. In the first half of 2008 (January – June 2008) there were 8,006 accidents at work reported. |
Competition for the award of “Good Practices in the Area of Safety and Health at Work 2008”

The awards will be granted to the companies and organisations making an outstanding and innovative contribution towards a comprehensive approach to risk assessment. |

World Day for Safety and Health at Work
![]() | In 2003, the International Labour Organisation (ILO) decided to declare 28 April the World Day for Safety and Health at Work. The appointed date is associated with the tradition of trade union movements and mourning the loss of all workers who lost their lives in accidents at work or due to occupational diseases. The activities of this year’s World Day for Safety and Health at Work will be carried out under the slogan “My life, my work, my safe work”. |

Initiative for Safe and Healthy Jobs
