Under the Portuguese EU Presidency, the 5th EU/US joint conference on occupational safety and health was held on 7 – 9 November 2007 in Cascais.
The Conference, which took place within the framework of the Transatlantic Agenda, aimed at strengthening bilateral cooperation in an issue of maximum importance for the functioning and standards of labour markets.
The Conference provided an opportunity for debating topics of common interest related to health and safety at work that should be developed in order to bring increasing quality and efficiency to labour markets and increasing competitiveness to our economies.

The EU - US conference on OSH will be held on the Greek island of Lemnos, May 28 - 30, 2003. The conference is organised by the European Commission, the Greek Presidency and the US DOL, Occupational Health and Safety Administration (OSHA). The goal is to promote sharing of information on current safety and health topics of common interest.

The EU/US conference was a useful tool for initiating a dialogue on occupational health and safety, both between trade unions, employers and governments.

This is a project of the US DOL, Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) and the EU European Agency for Health and Safety at Work (EU Agency). The goal is to promote sharing of information on current safety and health topics of common interest.
